DESCRIPTION
The word Matsukaze is used in the world of the tea ceremony.
It is said to describe the sound of boiling water in a tea ceremony kettle.
If you listen carefully, you can hear a sizzling sound as the water in the iron kettle boils.
We named it Matsukaze, imagining that our ancestors who enjoyed tea in Japan may have heard the same sound in the past.
We aimed to create a tetsubin that would fit in well with both Japanese and Western tetsubin with its flat design.
We are conscious of designing the tetsubin with an emphasis on ease of pouring. The angle of the spout was designed to minimize the angle of tilting when pouring hot water.
The shape of the tip of the spout has also been modified to allow the water to drain more easily than in a conventional tetsubin.
The movable handle makes it easy to carry and store.
Although this is unusual in the design of tetsubin, this piece has a steam hole in the lid for greater practicality. This design allows water to flow out more easily when pouring.
