DESCRIPTION

Presenting an iron kettle adorned with an exquisite dragonfly motif, skillfully conceptualized by the accomplished sixth generation of Oitomi artisans.

In Japan, dragonflies have enjoyed popularity as symbols of good fortune, earning them the moniker "Kachimushi," which translates to "victory insect." This notion originates from the dragonfly's unique flight pattern – unable to fly backward – an attribute that led to its incorporation as an emblem of courage on samurai armor and helmets, embodying an insect that never yielded.

The abundance of rice ears and the presence of dragonflies symbolize prosperity and unwavering commitment. When examining the design, it appears to be influenced by Emile Galle, reminiscent of Japonism. This piece is a masterpiece that reflects Japan as an island nation where diverse cultures blend harmoniously.

The motif of harvesting is represented by the use of "chrysanthemum."

The handle features a fixed design known as "twisting vine," providing a comfortable and ergonomic grip.

About Azure Pigment: The color of the iron kettle is achieved through coloring. We apply azure pigment on top of black coloring to finish it. Please be aware that, similar to black, the color may change over time with use.
