Notice

The surface is coated with an antirust oxide layer using the traditional technique called kama-yaki, but because it is cast iron, rust may occur due to moisture and humidity.

Since the inside is not enameled, the leached iron and tannin may bind and discolor the tea. It is harmless to the human body.

DESCRIPTION

Plum blossoms have been revered since antiquity for their announcement of spring's arrival, a welcome reprieve following a severe and wintry period.

In Japanese culture, the trinity of pine, bamboo, and plum blossoms is embraced as symbols of good fortune.

Approximately half a century ago, Oitomi 6th envisioned and fashioned this Tetsubin adorned with plum blossoms. Dubbed "Shinonome," meaning "Dawn" in the Japanese lexicon, it draws inspiration from the thematic significance of the vernal season, the eastern skies where the sun ascends, and the emergence of daybreak.

Marked by its ergonomic design, it is distinguished by its ease of handling and pouring, aided by the gracefully arched handle.

The "Hisago" color encapsulates Oitomi's proprietary aging paint technique.

2-in-1 Iron kettle and teapot type

You can use this type not only to boil water over an open flame, but also as a teapot with a tea strainer inside.

Nambu ironware is produced using the traditional technique called "kama-yaki" to generate an oxide layer on the surface. It leads to "rust resistance" and "dissolved iron effect" and makes tea and coffee taste better.

A wonderful little pot

This is by far the cutest teapot I've had, and I know I will treasure it for a long long time. However, the steel strainer that came included is quite useless and not suitable for brewing tea. I do not know whether it's too small or too dense, but the leaves refuse to steep. A simple spiral filter attached to the mouth of the teapot would work better.
