Oshu City, where we are located, is the place that famous Haiku of poet Matsuo Basho was read.
The summer grass - It is all that's left of ancient warriors dreams
( Natsu-kusa ya tsuwamono-domo ga yume no ato )
This Iron kettle was inspired by this Haiku.
The flat shape was a design that was popular in Europe at the time.
It was considered appropriate to represent the unique texture, presence, and stability of iron.
Its capacity is not Japanese conventional demand, but a world standard. Neither too large, nor too small.
The delicate pattern eases a feeling of tension, which is what we aim for when we produce implements for tea ceremony.
The handle tilts for easy storage, and the flat base makes it highly responsive to induction heating. However, when using it on an induction heater, note that the heat should be low to medium. This is to prevent deformation due to the heat concentration.
In the old days, iron kettles were hung from hooks above the hearth or put on the brazier. Not quickly, but slowly over charcoal. This is a tool for that kind of feeling. Please enjoy quiet and peaceful time.
