Notice

The surface is coated with an antirust oxide layer using the traditional technique called kama-yaki, but because it is cast iron, rust may occur due to moisture and humidity.

Since the inside is not enameled, the leached iron and tannin may bind and discolor the tea. It is harmless to the human body.

DESCRIPTION

An iron kettle of square dimensions. While certain tea kettles cherished by tea masters have embraced an octagonal configuration, the one at hand boasts a pristine square design.

Devised by our seventh-generation artisan approximately three decades ago, this kettle presents a textured arare pattern across its surface, lending it a subtly tactile quality.

For those accustomed to encountering circular objects, its unique form is poised to evoke astonishment. The placement of the spout at one of the corners ensures effortless and precise pouring of hot water.

It is widely acknowledged that a square iron pot embodies a novel concept. Indeed, crafting this form entails a notable degree of complexity.

Earning its place as a representative masterpiece from the Heisei era (1989–2019), this kettle garners greater acclaim from international patrons than its domestic counterparts.

2-in-1 Iron kettle and teapot type

You can use this type not only to boil water over an open flame, but also as a teapot with a tea strainer inside.

Nambu ironware is produced using the traditional technique called "kama-yaki" to generate an oxide layer on the surface. It leads to "rust resistance" and "dissolved iron effect" and makes tea and coffee taste better.
