Notice

The surface is coated with an antirust oxide layer using the traditional technique called kama-yaki, but because it is cast iron, rust may occur due to moisture and humidity.

Since the inside is not enameled, the leached iron and tannin may bind and discolor the tea. It is harmless to the human body.

DESCRIPTION

This iron kettle showcases an intricate pine needle motif, while its handle is adorned with delicate pine cones.

In Japanese culture, pine needles hold significance as a symbol of good fortune and prosperity.

Equipped with an accompanying strainer, this kettle serves a dual purpose as a teapot. Although its dimensions align with those of a standard teapot, its design also accommodates usage over an open flame.

Deviating from the conventional notion that iron cannot be fused seamlessly into a teapot, the interior of this piece remains unenameled. This distinctive choice allows for the infusion of iron, culminating in a truly delightful teapot experience.

The exclusive "Hisago" color represents Oitomi's proprietary aged paint technique.

2-in-1 Iron kettle and teapot type

You can use this type not only to boil water over an open flame, but also as a teapot with a tea strainer inside.

Nambu ironware is produced using the traditional technique called "kama-yaki" to generate an oxide layer on the surface. It leads to "rust resistance" and "dissolved iron effect" and makes tea and coffee taste better.
