Notice

The surface is coated with an antirust oxide layer using the traditional technique called kama-yaki (high temperature baking treatment), but as it is cast iron, rust may occur due to moisture and humidity.

DESCRIPTION

This iron kettle features a traditional "Arare (Dots)" design pattern.

Despite its generous dimensions, it boasts a lightweight construction. Interestingly, it's a noteworthy observation that the larger the tetsubin, the lighter it feels.

While the traditional arare pattern graces this iron kettle with distinction, its presence maintains a tastefully understated allure.

The affixed handle ensures stability, rendering it secure for use even when filled to capacity with water.

In contemporary times, compact iron kettles have gained utmost popularity. However, we have also fielded requests for a larger variant.

For those in pursuit of a 2L capacity, we strongly recommend this iron kettle, as the 1L size might prove insufficient for gatherings of friends and family.

Additionally, the flat design of the bottom facilitates convenient usage with an induction heater.

Please note that cooking near this pot may result in oil stains and discoloration due to oil splashes.
If the gas flame reaches the body of the pot, the part is likely to discolor, so be careful not to increase the heat too much.
Used over an open flame, the base will gradually turn white.

To make tea and coffee great

The water boiled in Nambu iron kettle tastes mellow and sweet even when drunk straight.

This is due to the effect of iron leaching into the hot water, but in order for the iron to leach out, the inside cannot be enameled or otherwise treated, and rust is liable to occur.

Nambu ironware is baked using the traditional technique called kama-yaki to produce an oxide layer on the surface. It leads to "rust resistance" and "water quality improvement" and makes tea and coffee taste better.

Mr Peter J.
Waiting was worth while

My first genuine tetsubin has been used a few days now and I can say nothing more than it is wonderfully beautiful. I chose to purchase the 1,8 litre tetsubin—it seems to be a good choice for me.

I have already used it many times a day. It is calming to hear the low and soft «hissing» the tetsubin makes when it comes to a boil.

Also you should not be worried about boiled water having to much hint of iron taste. The water is quite «normal», but I might sense a more mellow taste.

I will continue to expand my Oitomi collection in the future.

Dear Mr Peter,

We're delighted that you're finding comfort in the calming sound of the tetsubin boiling, and glad to hear that the water's taste is just right, with just a hint of mellow flavor.

We truly appreciate your support and loyalty, and we look forward to helping you expand your Oitomi collection in the future. Thank you for choosing Oitomi!

Best regards,
