Notice

The surface is coated with an antirust oxide layer using the traditional technique called kama-yaki, but because it is cast iron, rust may occur due to moisture and humidity.

Since the inside is not enameled, the leached iron and tannin may bind and discolor the tea. It is harmless to the human body.

DESCRIPTION

The iron kettle known as Miyabi boasts a distinct and remarkable silhouette. Notably, the lid and base assume an octagonal shape, gracefully curving outward in a linear fashion.

In the context of Japan, the kanji character for the number eight closely resembles a folding fan, rendering it an auspicious symbol. The octagonal configuration, evoking similarities to musical instruments like a violin or an acoustic guitar, as well as reflecting the contours of the human body, imparts a comforting and soothing sensation.

Please note that cooking near this pot may result in oil stains and discoloration due to oil splashes.

Used over an open flame, the base will gradually turn white.

To make tea and coffee great

The water boiled in Nambu iron kettle tastes mellow and sweet even when drunk straight.

This is due to the effect of iron leaching into the hot water, but in order for the iron to leach out, the inside cannot be enameled or otherwise treated, and rust is liable to occur.

Nambu ironware is baked using the traditional technique called kama-yaki to produce an oxide layer on the surface. It leads to "rust resistance" and "water quality improvement" and makes tea and coffee taste better.

BEAUTIFUL

I’ve always wanted to own a Nanbutekki. Miyabi(1L.) is very beautiful piece and perfect size for my morning cup. Water taste so much better than just boil with my regular kettle. It tastes very mild and smooth. I’ve been using everyday since I received it a few weeks ago and I’m looking forward to do so for many years. I hope more people will experience the joy of owning a Nanbutekki.

Dear Meg,

Thank you so much for your rating and lovely comment! your comment mean a lot to us.

Best regards,
